  • Menu — repeat infinitely?

I’m doing a DVD 9, first time. I have first start, a piece of video. Then it goes to the main menu. The main menu consists of video background with the buttons/links on that. I would like to be able to have the video menu loop infinitely and seamlessly (right now it’s an avi file) but only have the music for it play once, the first time it plays, and not have the music restarting each time it loops.

    So my questions:

    1) How do you sent the main menu (when it’s video) to loop seamlessly?

    2) Is there a way to make the music side of it play only once?

    Many thanks.

The menu can loop, but not seamlessly. The usual trick to avoid viewers noticing the restart in the loop is to “pre-loop” the menu a couple of times in an NLE (e.g. Premiere) to make it a minute or two. Most viewers will have made a selection before the two minutes are over.

For the music playing just once, you would use two menus: One with audio, set to play one time and with an end action linking a second one without audio.
