I want an object (a guitar pick) cretaed in Photoshop to appear when buttons are seleted then higlighted when activated, but transparent on normal state. I have these built in PS as part of the layer hierarchy.
    Help!

What program are you using? Is this a simple shape of the pick, or an image of a pick (with texture?)

    Michael,
I created menus in Photoshop CS3. I am authoring in Sonic DVDit PRO 6.4 that apparently allows composite menu editing. It does not appear to be as robust a tool as advertised.
I also have DVD Studio Pro 3 on my iMac, but I prefer the VBR transcoding of my Progressive Mpeg2 in Sonic DVDit Pro though.

Ton answer your first questions. The guitar picks are textured picture objects. The idea is that they go along with the rollover for selected the title on a menu.

Then you have to use the Layered Menu option. The navigation is much slower and doesn’t work the same on a set top vs software player.

Each state is on a different layer. The manual does over this fairly well.

I try to stay away from layered menus, so does almost every retail DVD.
