I’ve created a flattened PSD file with text, and imported this as an asset for the menu background. However, it looks awful when displayed – Blurred text, all artwork lacking clarity.

The only element I’ve placed on the menu from DVD SP is a button.

I must be doing something basically wrong. Any advice would be great. eg Does all text need to be added in Studio Pro over a plain background (surely not?) From what I can see Studio Pro offers a very limited number of fonts(?) . If I have other elements eg a logo does this have to be added as a separate (alpha)layer?

    Thanks

    Mike

Try to be a little more specific.
A flattened PSD should look good.
However, preview scaled down on a computer monitor is different from final output.
Next, DVD SP 4.1 has a bug that throws out a field on building the disc, so forget about 4.1 if you want to have still menus.
(and raise hell about it with Apple)

Do the normal voodoo to have a computer image look good on a CRT. If you know about this, it should be just fine. If you have an NLE, check the final output there first so you won’t end up making a lot of test discs…
