Memory…why do I need it?
OK. I’m a bit out of the loop, but can someone tell me why I need 4 Gigs of Ram?
what is the real advantage except for the fact that my computer can run more programs simultaneously without crashing.
Will my rendering speed up? Will FCP run smoother?Everything seems to run fine as is, but the “industry” says I need to upgrade. I must honestly admit, I really don’t know why
I need more memory. Can someone just put it to me plain and simple?thanks,

As your projects get larger, you’ll need more RAM to keep working. Many applications can utilize more and more RAM so they run faster.
I run 4GB RAM in one system and 3GB RAM in the other system. If this is just a hobby for you, you probably don’t need the RAM. If this is your profession and this system is earning you money, then you probably want the RAM. I often have FCP, Photoshop and LiveType / Motion open simultaneously, so the RAM is very helpful.
