Memory Settings in AE (and Other CC Apps) Keep Resetting
I’m on Windows 11 and I’m subscribed to Creative Cloud. I have the latest versions of CC installed, including AE, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, etc. (no other add-ons installed).
I have 64GB of RAM installed with a 12-core processor. My sweet spot for memory is to utilize 40GB for all Adobe programs (leaving 24GB for others I needed to multitask).
When I set the 24/40 ratio in After Effects memory settings (which auto sets the same value in my other Adobe programs), I noticed is randomly changes these settings if I close the program and check it again.
I’ve seen it reset itself to everything from 0GB for other programs (with AE taking up all of my RAM), and even randomly setting it to 56GB for Adobe and 6GB for other programs.
This setting used to stay fixed after the first time I set it, so not sure why it’s sporadically changing. I even tried another update today of all my apps and reset all the preferences and reconfigured. But nothing does the trick. Anyone else seen this issue?

I recently got 128 GB PC running Windows 11 – kid you not, on even a basic render from the smallest of smallest projects, I’ve had PPro telling me I was out on memory whilst rendering out the edit.
Adobe had many excuses, but no answers.
Don’t get angry yet – wait till you find out that the Cloud in Creative Cloud does not work for single licence users Adobe professional video tools – in other words, if you want to transfer your Adobe Rush iPad project to your PC PPro, you can not do that using Creative Cloud.
Sorry, did not answer your question, but add to the list of concerns…

UPDATE:
An Adobe employee on their community forum (where I also posted this issue) has just confirmed this is an Adobe-side bug, and they are looking into a fix…
