August 24, 2006 at 2:50 amThere is one known issue (in my experience) with the AJA Xena drivers that causes memory problems in DV (software) editing mode…That one is being worked on.

August 24, 2006 at 1:10 pmHey Pat-
We’re still having memory errors – but it is MUCH more manageable under 2.0 than it was under 1.5. We have NO hardware acceleration. Projects slug down as they get bigger and bigger (as in more sources and sequences). Not too many crashes (no more than 1 per day) but that’s because I watch my memory usage like a hawk (taskmanager is my BEST FRIEND), save frequently and exit and restart when the memory use climbs too high (oh, and never, ever, open another project without exiting and reopening Premiere – it’s like asking for a crash!) All in all though, most days it’s doable.

August 24, 2006 at 3:22 pmI totally concur with Marisu. Heed his comments well. The memory issues of 1.5 were greatly improved in 2.0. And perhaps the issues that remain are to some extent associated with XP’s memory limitations. Those of us working in long form should pray to all the gods that PPro 2.5 and everything else works in the forthcoming 64-bit world.
