  • Memory problem tracking 3k footage (PAL final output)

    Hi All

I have some 3k footage from a RED camera that I have imported into a composition in After Effects as Cineform Quicktimes.

I am going out to PAL 720 x 576 as final.

I am on a Quad Mac Pro with 4 gig of RAM and am getting memory errors from AE CS 3.

I wonder if it is better to render out the clip to be tracked as PAL first and then track. This would help the RAM of the Mac but it would mean in AE there is less info to track.

    What would you guys advise?

I would try rendering out to PAL first…just make sure that you pick the best possible output (CODEC) that you can.
