Memory and Preferences
My computer is connected to an edit share (server) that allows everyone at my office to access to the file on it. All of my source footage is on the edit share.
To get the best performance in after effects and from my mac, should I change the “conformed Media Cache” destination to a folder not on my computers hard drive? Would setting these destinations to our edit share system allow for faster renders and increased performance in aftereffects? If I do change these folders to the edit share will after effects know to look for the the information there? What should I title these folders?
Also yesterday I received a openGL error message. I looked this up and found a thread that advised to turn off the Enable OpenGL in my Preferences menu. I did this and all is working fine now. Is this a common thing, it’s kind of bothering my because within the past two weeks I was given a new G5. Not the latest model that came out a few weeks ago, but the one prior to that, was purchased from Mac Mall.
Any ideas if this new computer is to blame? Thanks for your time and sharing what you know, I appreciate it very much.
Matt
