Membrane effect for the web
Hi – I’d like to recreate the membrane effect that ships with motion 2 for the web. Does anyone know of a way of recreating the soft sweeping look using vectors. Flash doesn’t seem to be able to do it. But I notice my apple screen saver has a similar kind of effect. How is that done? Is there an application out there that can do this effect using vectors I don’t know about? Or does my screen saver generate bitmaps on the fly? If anyone can shed any light on this, I’d appreciate it. Regards P

Screensavers can be generated by a nifty little app called Quartz Composer that comes with the developer tools for OSX 10.4 Tiger.
It uses a process-tree interface which can take some getting used to by folks who usually work with a timeline.

It outputs OSX screensavers (which can include RSS feeds) and QuickTime movies. No Flash.
