Yes, we have experienced this same problem.

    Until there’s a fix, here’s a suggested workaround.

BEFORE you media manage your sequence, match frame every “multiclip” shot back to the original media and “overcut” it into your sequence. Save and manage this “multiclip less” sequence normally. This should work as expected.

Ver 6.01 really stuck a wrench in the “media manager/multiclip” workflow.

Well, this IS a workflow we use here very often and you don’t want see me swearing around on this “feature” FCP 6 brought in here – no, you don’t… I’m talking multicam (8-14) opera- and concert-programs 150 mins+ in HD.

    – the recutting workaround:

For that recutting-workaround: I pull off the assistant’s bill from the next payble FCP-upgrade, may I?

    – ever tried to call tech support?

Man, I’m not here to explain them how the software works, am I? I suppose answering questions on the phone is not the way to go into depth with a piece of code, is it? “Have you tried…” is not what I am aiming for here, believe me, I “tried” a lot of things!

I want: “I shouldn’t say that to you but… yes, we know about this issue, all our staff is into it – a promising update-seed are currently circulating, if you like we can take you in the recipients-group…”

Guys, even beta-testing is something I’d prefer over this ridiculous situation!

btw my workaround: oldschool-EDL out the sequence to online and re-import into a new project for recapture…
While this works well for hard edits it’s not for this sophisticated stuff a vanishing minority use (and bought) FCPFCS for – because FC is currently not working in a professional manner!!!!

Ah: don’t even think about using that XML-feature – it’s as reliable as the Media Mangler itself.

“it devoured my paper… – bummer!”
