Has anyone come across this error. I have an 8 min timeline with 2 sec dissolves as the only transitions. I’m getting this on a couple of the dissolves when I go to render… “Unable to render because an unexpected error occurred. Please try again. Error: -19604 Parameter: 0” I have never received this error with Media100. I recently moved to a dual G5 2.7ghz with an expansion chassis. Everything is behaving correctly except for this. I’ve tried replacing the media where the transition is happening, but no luck.

Are you running Media 100 i V8.2.3a? What kind of storage do you use? Where is your storage (SCSI/Fibre/SATA) card, in the chassis or in the G5? Have you placed the cards according to the CPG?

Using 8.23a. MediaVault 4210 Fibre. The fibre card is in slot 4 of the G5. The chassis host card is in slot 2 of the G5.

In the CPG it is recommended to put the expansion card in Slot 4 and the storage card in Slot 2. The slot 4 is a 133MHz slot while slots 2+3 are 100MHz only. Maybe the Expansion chassis needs some extra performance and changing the cards to the suggested order does make the difference for your setup.

I rearranged the slots, but I’m getting the same problem. Is this a lossless issue? I read in the old cpg that lossless wasn’t supported with the expansion chassis. Is that still true? This entire project was acquired in lossless, but the timeline performance is fine. Also, 90% of the dissolves have rendered fine.
