    Hi

    I have been running Avid Xpress Pro 4.0.1 and have been finding that recently it has been crashing and displaying the ‘Exception’ message. On restarting, I have been finding that some of my sequnces have become unrendered.

    Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

    This is probably due to the crash. I would focus more on what the crash is then it coming up unrendered.

    Do you have the exact error, and under what circumstances it crashes?

    A full list of system specs would also be helpful.

    This is the error:

    ‘AN ACCESS_VIOLATION exception occured. For more info see the error log: c:\programfiles…..’

    It appears to crash like this randomly; sometimes when I’m trying to access footage from another bin in another project or when I simply try and put a dissolve or resize on a clip.

    I have to restart Avid then I find my sequnces unrendered and sometimes large chunks of media offline…

    It sounds like you may have some corruption somewhere in the timeline or media.

    Have you trashed the Media Database files?
