Media still offline
I posted a couple weeks back, and Joe gave me some ideas to try out for a “media offline” problem. Unfortunately, deleting the database file and creating a new user ID didn’t work out. Just to recap, I am working on a Avid Xpress Pro project on the client’s system, which has the following specs:
Xpress Pro 4.0.1
Pentium III-598 MHZ
640 MB of RAM
XP Professional V.2002-Service Pack 1An older IBM Intellistation M Pro, but it seemed to work ok before. I was having exporting issues (“failed to export bin” error), and also outputting issues (freezes up when you connect a camera). Then, after playing with the transitions, I realized that it kept rendering the same transitions over and over, always saying it needed to be rendered.
Now, when opening the Avid project, it says random media is offline. Several different clips spread throughout. What is the standard protocol for this? I am a FCP user most of the time, and FCP media is easy to find because its in the quicktime format. How do you find the independent clips with Avid Media?
I hope the media didn’t just disappear, and Avid just doesn’t see it anymore. But I wouldn’t know which ones are which.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
