i need to alter the media start properties of the digitised clips in fcp5.

i have digitised off a vhs with a t/c window supplied from an archive library but of course the t/c from the guide vhs is useless and unrelated to anything

it would be good to be able go to the qt movie and later the media start to reflect the first code displayed in the vhs’ bitc window

so to use the timecode from the bitc window in the timeline
to mirror the source tapes that will ultimately be supplied by the archive when my
client pays, and when i up-rez.

i know where to change reel and timecode info for in’s and outs but…

You can control click the captured media in the browser. Select “settings” You will get a window where you can select a “Timeline Options” tab. There is a box for starting timecode – you can enter a value there that lines up with frame one’s timecode on the media.
