Media Pool offline mode and consolidate
Hi there,
I love the Media Pool…
its the core of project organisation and its playback and metadata function are unmatched. But it shares the same problem i have with Scratch, the pure amount of data I am using makes it unusable sometimes.
For example, right now I am online a movie with 44 hours of Alexa clips…roughly 5000 of them loaded.
After assembling my 5 reels which works just fine I wish to clean it up a little.
At least i would like to delete all the clips not used by the conform.
When i use the Update Usage function i see that 80% of the clips are unused.
It takes almost 5 minutes for Resolve to update those numbers.
But when I then click on the usage field to sort by usage, Resolve hangs indefinitely.
One would think it just needs to sort the columns and it would happen in a blink of an eye.
But somehow it tries to access the media at this point or does something else that kills it.My real goal actually would have a function to Consolidate the used media into a new folder.
Like Scratch does on the project page.
Analyzing the content, creating a similar structure on disk and copying all files necessary from the network assemble to the local working disk.
Or in my case, from 5 TB to 1,5 TB 🙂A slice of color…
