  • Media offline shows up straight after importing files

Posted by Adam Dorsz on December 6, 2018 at 10:28 pm

    Hi,

I have about 50GB worth of footage that for some reason is showing up as ‘media offline’ as soon as I import it into Davinci. I have no idea why that is as I can import it into other software like premier pro or after effects. I tried media encoder to encode it to a different format and it works. Is there a way I can avoid having to encode 50GB of footage and get these clips working in Davinci?

    Thanks!

Which version of Resolve? What OS? What hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM, I/O)? What type of camera source files?

Sounds like your footage is a codec that Resolve doesn’t understand, but Adobe does. You will have to transcode it to something Resolve likes. It likes lots of file types…but not everything.
