    Hello,

The First problem is I have cs3 and cs2 on a work computer, both Encore and Premiere cs3 when importing m2v files after exporting to m2v from premiere cs3 gives media offline in encore cs3 and premiere cs3. If I take the same file and import m2v file in encore cs2 and premiere cs2 it import and the video show ups. any ideas? Does cs2 have a codec that cs3 does not have if so could I copy a file from cs2 into cs3 folder to get it to see the m2v files?

    2nd problem

A friend of mine wanted to edit his tivo videos files he has convert them to .mpg files
but when we imported on his computer running premiere cs3 we get video but no audio track. I took the file and imported it on my computer using premiere cs3 same thing happened. I rename the .mpg file to .avi and imported the file again on my computer and I got video and audio track with the wave form and I thought that would work on his computer also, I tried to do the same thing with his computer. With the .mpg rename to .avi on my friends computer he now got the video and audio track but when dragged to the timeline there is no audio wave form. So it work on mine where I can pick up the audio but not his computer. Problems 1 and 2 are kind of the same I am guessing it might be a codec but not sure which one we need or where to put them.
    Thanks for any help.

In general, PPro does not edit MPEG well, including HDV. In fact, MPEG are not meant for edit. Yes, it can be done, but PQ may be problem.

Having that said, in general, if you run into editing problems, best thing is to convert the MPEG to AVI or other containers that PPro will do a better job with.

    Good luck,
    Perry
