Media offline after closing After Effects CS4
Hi folks,
Not sure which side of the fence this belongs on so we’ll start here. I’m attempting to create a PIP composition in After Effects for use in Premiere Pro and am having a frustrating issue. After creating the comp and placing in Premiere, all is well. However, as soon as I close After Effects, the comp goes “media offline”.
There will be a number of these PIPs in the final product and I’ve managed to get 1 of them to ‘stick’ … don’t know why that one works though. When I attempt to manually link the problematic composition back to the AE file, the comps presented in the link dialog are from the one PIP which is working but exist in a *different* AE file. If I launch AE and open the ‘broken’ project the correct comps will be shown in the link dialog.
I’ve tried 3 different ways to come at this and keep ending up in a spot where the comp is only live in Premiere when AE is open. The 3 methods I have tried are “Replace footage with After Effect comp”, creating a new comp then copy/pasting from Premiere timeline into After Effects and creating a new comp then importing the footage.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
