Anybody having this problem with 5.1.1 ? I have my media on an external FW800 drive; I’m editing everything is working then I get the dreaded you have disconected a device warning, Argh !! I quit FCP and I see that my drive is still mounted. I restart and FCP asks me to reset my scratch disc. I’m a good guy so I do as I am asked; everything is fine for a while then it happens again. Any thoughts ?

What brand is the FireWire drive? Your problem sounds like it’s the drive’s FW port becoming flaky. The drive goes off the desktop then back quickly when the port on it isn’t making a steady connection…

Head on over to the GRaid forum. You’ll see that they have been having problems. My AE guy just had his do the same thing, he sent it in and they returned it and all seems well now.
