Using FCP 7 on my Mac Pro, 3.33 Six Core, OS 10.6.8, 13 GB RAM and FCP constantly crashes. Prefs have been rebuilt several times, no improvement. Plenty fast SATA RAID drives. Must be the incredible amount of footage in the Browser. Media Manager tells me I’m only using 38GB of the +160GB I have there. So, no sweat. Media Manage the assets. Not so simple.

I get an Error 34 message every time.

Footage is XDCAM-EX 720p 24. There are a few oddball codecs in there too (lo-rez QT’s, jpegs). I’ve tried taking some of them off the timeline, but I still get the same error message within the first few seconds of the process. I’ve deleted the first two minutes, just to see if it would help. It didn’t.

    Help gratefully and deeply appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Ray

What function(s) of “Media Mangler” are you trying to use? Some work well, while others can be problematic.
