I’m trying to Media Manage/Recompress a very large project from XDCAM into ProRes, and while I’m having success with the single stream clips, the multigroup clips have in many cases become utterly mangled by the process. Specifically, I’ve seen a) one camera in the group be fine, the other camera out of sync – which can be by frames or seconds; b) both angles blank, and no audio for either; c) original master clips moved and deleted.

Is this normal, and I am up the creek without a paddle? I do have backups of everything, so going back isn’t a big disaster, but I need to try again and am hoping someone has some guidance. This is with FCP 6.06 under 10.5.8.

I have the identical system running on an 8-core 2.8ghz Power Mac. (10.5.8 and 6.0.6)

I too have experienced the missing multiclip angles just recently. The presence of color correcting filters seems to affect this, but turning off the filters doesn’t bring the angles back. They stay black. The time code numbers are still there.

This is a brand new problem as far as I am concerned. The latest updates are my top suspects.

    Best, Jay
