  • Media Manager problem.. Yet, again…

Hi everyone! It had been a while since I browsed the forums here… Unfortunately, I’ve come accross a bug that prompted me to come and consult with the fine people of the COW once more 🙂

I tried searching but unfortunetely, I did not find anything that resembles what I’m experiencing now. Then again, maybe I entered the wrong search keywords… So anyhow, here’s what I’m experiencing…

The the last few weeks, we’ve been editing one of our TV series and at the end of each show, we do a MEDIA MANAGER just to copy all the media required for each episodes into a new project (everything is online, we never do the offline thing ever, always edit full quality right off the bat).

So far, I have never had any reason to doubt the “Consolidates” that were created by FCP. So we never check them. But a few days ago, we had to modify something in a previous episode. So we loaded the new media manager project and there is a very annoyig oddity that occurs with the clips.

The audio of a LOT of the clips is messed up. The clip on the timeline starts off great but a few seconds in the audio RESTARTS ! Just as if I had cut into the audio track and just pasted the track all over again. (There is NO cut, no keyframes, nothing on the timeline).

If I go directly into my bin and load the original clip, it plays fine! So I need to select the clip, copy attributes and paste content attributes on all the messed-up tracks. Needless to say, in a 30min-long timeline, it gets very time-consuming to re-do all of that…

Has anyone else experienced this? Can it be fixed? What could’ve caused this to happen?

Thanks for any and all help 🙂

We have had this problem a few times with FCP before when recreating projects with the original render files on audio clips with effects. We realized that (for us) the only audio files affected had audio effects on them.
To fix the problem we just click off and on again the audio effect inside the clip and render it again.

This should get rid of the audio repeating in the middle of that clip.

    Hope that works
