I am trying to media manage a series of 2-4 minute videos and recompress them into appl pro res 1920 x 1080 so that they can be delivered in a small self contained package. However a lot of the time despite the fact that i have selected “delete unused media” with 4 second handles it is copying the entire video file that is referenced on the sequence which takes for ever and kind of defeats the whole purpose. Weird thing is that it seems to do this some of the time but not with every project and i can not figure out why. Regardless of how I set the handles the projected size of the modified doesn’t seem to change. Does anyone know what box i am failing to check here?

Unless your footage has REEL numbers, Media Manager won’t trim the fat. All your footage needs REEL numbers in order for this to work properly.
