Looking to dive into a Canon 60d.

As a freelancer with an XDCAM EX-3, I transfer clips & hand off hard drives to a producer and they head off to the edit suite. What do I need to do for handing off media in this format?

On more than one occasion, I’ve been told the edit will be on FCP and then get a call from an editor on a PC Avid that he can’t open the files! And that’s my problem?

I know CS5 will handle the H264 files natively. What does it take for Avid, FCP or CS4 to handle the files? Are there free utilities available for these edit suites to do necessary conversions?
Is there a generic conversion I can do when in doubt?

    Thnx
