I am a new user experimenting to decide how best to structure my work flow.

I import media from a file on drive A create a project and store the project

Copy the file with the media to drive Z

Come back later and open the stored project get media offline message as expected

I can import the media from the file on Z but it does not link is there an equivalent of re-link or what should I do ??

My plan was to archive a completed project with all its media on an off line drive, and if I needed to work on the project again split the project and media on to separate drives to work on the project.

    I would appreciate any advice…for a new user( not cloud ) .

The project manager is super important and an easy to use tool.

Your other option is to put everything, even the project file, Project > Settings > Scratch Disks …

Make sure it is all set to Same as Project. Then when you archive, you dump the entire folder wherever you want. When you’re ready to work again, dump the the whole folder back on your media drive.
