    Hi,
I have about 300 media clips to import for my project (most .mpg but about 10% .avi) and I am having absolutely no success because vegas keeps crashing. I’ve tried to do it in steps (ie. 10 at a time) and it still crashes anywhere between 50 and 100 clips. I’ve tried the same clips in different order/s to eliminate any single clip being the cause – but no luck. I’ve tried locating my source media on different drives to eliminate that – no luck. I’ve juggled my temp folder, my project target – and I’ve even saved after every 10 imports – no luck.
I’m running Vegas Pro 11 build 520 so I’m on the latest software.
I can import a full length DVD so media size is obviously not a problem. I simply don’t get it and desperately need some help.
A million thanks in advance for anyone knowing the answer.

    Dylan

If the AVI files are DIVX or XVID, that’s where the problem most likely is. Vegas supports the Microsoft AVI specification, but DIVX/XVID are variations to that which can cause issues with Vegas.

I would need to know how the mpg files were created to comment.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6
