media fx do not show in preview/timeline, only after rendering
i have watched several tutorials and watch them change the setting/fx on clips, which also changes in the preview window. I had that when i started using vegas but lost it somewhere along the line, i have looked through the preferences and options but cant seem to find if i unchecked a box i shouldn’t have. Any help would be appreciated.

Above the preview screen is the “Split screen view” button. Turn that OFF. You have it set to “Bypass Effects”.
