  • media files not optimized for FCP warning

    Hello,
I’m exporting approx a 53 min edit from FCP 6.0.6 as a Pro Res HQ 1920×1080 60i and Pro Res 422 1920 x 1080 60i file when I import either one of these clips into FCP I get the warning “the following media files are not optimized for Final Cut Pro.”
    I’m on a MacPro 3.2 quad core
    16gb RAM
exporting out to a CalDigit VR 3TB Raid set at Raid 0 (I have the footage backed up on another drive)
The Caldigit is connected to the MacPro via FW800.
Why am I getting this message?

Another issue that I’m having with the same clip is that when I export both Pro Res Versions, HQ and 422, the first :20sec of the clip there is no video just audio. I have tried exporting from the initial edit sequence and also nesting the sequence and I get the same results.

    Thanks.

If everything is working fine except for the warning, then just go ahead and ignore the message. I’m not quite sure what the purpose of the message is or what it exactly means, but I’ve ran into it before, and it no effect on my project.

    Nick,
    Thanks for the info.
Guess it’s one of those “strange” FCP things.
