I am trying to import a quicktime file exported through FCP 3 into FCP HD and it is giving me an error message that reads “the media files are not optimized for final cut pro HD”

how do I optimize them? It suggests using media manager? AGH.

Export them in FCP HD with the media manager (don’t change codecs either keep them what they were DV?) if you want to optimize them… however they’ll still work without doing this, just not give you as much real time effect playback if you don’t. You can also just turn off the warning.
