Media Encoder-Not Working-Weird Issue
Posted by Greg Jones on May 15, 2013 at 5:51 pmHaving a really strange issue. I cannot seem to import anything into Media Encoder. If I export out of Premiere, or even import into Media Encoder nothing happens. Anyone else experience this?

May 15, 2013 at 6:20 pmTry re-booting your system and repairing permissions if you are on a mac.

May 15, 2013 at 6:36 pmAdditionally, have you cleaned out the “Media Cache Database” recently?
Have you tried:
(1) Queueing a file for export from within PPro to AME
(2) Opening a PPRo project file from within AME and choosing the sequences you want to export
(3) Dragging and dropping sequences from PPro to AMERyan Holmes

May 15, 2013 at 6:54 pmPreferences, media, Media Cache database “clean”
Is the option to export media greyed out, or when you select it nothing happens?

A reinstall may be necessary if all options are exhausted…..?

May 15, 2013 at 7:25 pmOne other thought, although you don’t say whether you’re on a Mac or PC. I now and then, when I’m doing a lot of encoding, run into multiple copies of AME and other Adobe software (QT encoder) running. On the PC, I go into the Task Manager, and manually close down the multiple running applications, and it seems to get its’ brain back. Rebooting should also do this, though.

May 16, 2013 at 12:05 pmThanks for all the advice. I ended up uninstalling CS6 and reinstalling. Everything magically works now.
