December 18, 2013 at 10:41 pmI’ve had Prelude and SpeedGrade crashes like that, but only on my MBPr. Everything is rock solid on the iMac.

December 19, 2013 at 4:18 amHave had the same problem since installing PP 7.2. Using “Queue” to launch AME 7.2.0.43 causes PP to crash. But I seem to have found a workaround. Launch AME in the finder rather than from within PP.

December 19, 2013 at 2:06 pmJust for the record, I’m on a Early 2009 MacPro 2.66 GHz Quad-Core, OS X 10.7.5. I have 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA Quadro 4000 graphics card. (Which I find a bit flaky.)

December 19, 2013 at 2:10 pmSame issue here. After the 7.2 update AME won’t launch. It did the first time but then locked up when I was loading clips into it. Now it either locks up on the splash screen while loading or just never launches when I hit the Queue button in Premiere. I’m on a Macbook Pro. I’ve tried numerous things, trashing preferences, clearing cache files, launching the program from outside Premiere. Nothing so far. I believe Adobe is aware of the issue.

December 19, 2013 at 8:27 pmJust installed today’s update – PP 7.2.1. And… same issue. But I was experiencing one of the other bugs that they claim has been fixed. Maybe they’ll get to this after Christmas.

December 19, 2013 at 8:40 pmI was just sent this by an Adobe rep. I updated preferences via holding shift while launching. And I think it worked.. at least the first time.. need to export again.

We’re on the case but haven’t found a definitive cause yet. Here’s a couple preliminary things we’re asking users to try if they’re seeing this:Hold the Shift key down while starting AME. This will reset your preferences and has fixed startup crashes in some instances.
Log out of your CC account: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/cc-applications-crash-immediately- launch.html
Set your GPU renderer to “Software Only”. Some video cards have issues when GPU is set to “OpenCL” or “CUDA”. Also check if there’s an update available for your video driver
Turn off “Enable Native Premiere Pro sequence import” in your AME prefs.
Post your crash logs if possible.Telly Award Winning Editor, Motion Gfx Artist, Colorist
