OK, it appears that the dynamic link server is acting hinky on my CS5 system. Some weirdness with linked AE compositions inside Premiere, and most notable, can’t reliably encode using the media encoder. In most cases, the encoding fails and returns the message “Could not read from the source.” However, if I encode directly in Pro using “Export” instead of “Queue,” it works fine. Can anyone point me to a fix?

    Thanks much.

I had the same error once and after much searching
found that it was the AE plugins installing themselves
into the adobe common folder instead of the AE plugins folder. After I moves them to the right place, renders worked out fine with AME. Not sure that will work but
it may be worth a try

    Hope that helps
