I’ve been having some weird issues with Media Encoder CS6 lately. I have a 2008 Mac Pro with 16GB memory, a GTX680 card and 8TB SAS Raid Array. Sometimes when batch rendering in Media Encoder from Premiere, my computer restarts. Screen goes black, then restarts. Anyone else every have this behavior?

What you are describing is a computer issue and has nothing to do with AME except maybe additional power draw while encoding. I would guess your power supply is going bad. Is your OS generating a kernal panic when it restarts?

I have a phantom problem of my MBP panicing and rebooting, but it is not regulated to just when I am using AME or lifting a heavy load

Thanks for the info. I am getting a kernel panic. Seems like the only time it has done it, so far, has been in Media Encoder.

Sounds like it’s time for a clean install…

Second That! You could try to put a heavy load to see if it happens in another application as well.
