I’m on 2018.11 – the Media Creation settings seem to follow the user and disregard the project.
In previous versions, I would open a project and set the import/mixdown/render/etc. settings for that project’s drive/episode. Avid would remember that and stay on those settings every time I would come back to that project.
Now, the media creation settings seem to follow the user, and not care about which project I am in. So, if I create another project/episode, modify the settings to a particular drive, then close out and open another project/episode, I will still be writing to that new drive in the older project. (read: I have to double check my settings EVERY time I import/render/etc.)
Joseph, I don’t think it’s intended to be that way. Are you able to update your MC version? The latest version of 2018 is 2018.12.15. They’ve fixed a lot of bugs since 2018.11, not to mention the 2019, 2020, and 2021 versions. If possible, test newer versions on a different computer to make sure they don’t cause any problems for your particular workflow before you put them into ‘production’. I’m using MC 2021.6 myself and I haven’t seen this problem.
