Anybody out there had any issues using the two newest versions of Media Composer with Mac OS 10.11.6? Both these versions of Avid seem to crash in the startup sequence, UNLESS I remove all the AMA plugins…then things seem to be fine. Not what the correlation between the AMA files, the edit program and the operation system is…or if there even is one. Just curious if anyone else has had this weirdness…

Hi! I don’t have a single AMA plugin in my project, just imported media. I’m still facing this problem. It keeps crashing whenever I try to start the project. It’s only after 7-8 attempts does it start. I’m quite baffled and frustrated.

I typically bring everything in via the Canon XF AMA plugin, but then transcode everything to DNxHD for editing. To have the program not even want to start up just because those files are in the AMA Plugins folder is baffling…I guess maybe because it’s reading them during the startup sequence?

Redgiant Looksplugin caused problems. I removed it from the AVX2 plugin folder and all is good. This was with a brand new SSD drive and a fresh install of 10.11.6 and Avid MC 8.6.4. Looks.avx sits on my desktop.
