Media Composer 6 search for bins?
So sometimes bins get misplaced and end up in other folders by accident. Is there a way to search bins for folders? I know you can go to flat veiw.. but that does not tell me where the bin is hiding, and when you have a huge project with millions of folders, finding a missing bin can drive you crazy.. or is there a way to lock a bin in a folder?

Did you try the command F search function?

The Find function is for clips, subclips, text in columns and in scripts/transcripts, but not for bin names (good feature request). Perhaps a workaround is to look or a clip you know to be in that bin, or create a dummy clip in the bin with the same name as the bin as you create them.

Why not try going out of the Avid, into Finder or Windows Explorer on that level. Search the bin name, it’ll be an avb file.

but that still won’t tell me what Folder my bin is in..

Sure it will. When you make a folder in Avid, the same folder is made on the desktop/finder level. Put a bin in that folder in the Avid, and it goes into the same folder on the finder level.
