Media Composer 5.0.2 Console
Hey guys,
I’ve just had my work machine upgraded to version 5 and while i’m enjoying a lot of the new features it seems that a few of the handy old commands have now gone…Just about the only console command I used to use was to calculate the duration of all the material in a bin, usually to double check the duration of a rushes playout – so Apple A to select everything in the bin, then Apple I to bring up the console with the total duration of the selected items. However I can’t get this to work on version 5 – instead of the console opening I just get a small window pop up for each clip I’ve selected. Does anyone know if there’s a new way of doing this?

Dang. I use that all the time for calculating show durations. Haven’t gone to 5 yet but it’s been ordered.

Rather than CTRL-I / CMD-I, right-click and choose “Get Bin Info”. Then see console.
