I have noticed that Premiere’s media cache database, which defaults to the C drive, is getting quite large, and is starting to fill my drive. I am on CS4.

    1) What would be the results of deleting this material? Would Premiere rebuild anything it needs? How long does this take? Does it rebuild each project as it is opened?

    2) If I change the location to one of my video drives, should I move the contents to the new location?

    3) Since my video drives are removable SATA drives on sleds, what would be the result of removing the drive with the MCD (to plug in another drive)?

You can delete all the media cache, Premiere will rebuild what is needed as it is needed and it wont take long.
Dont put the Media Cache location preference on a drive that you might remove or change its drive letter by adding or removing another drive…you dont need the pain.
