media 100 third party card for fcp5
i have fcp5 on a g4 and a media100xs system on the same computer. i’ve been trying to use my m-100 boards to output video with no success. has anyone out there had success doing this? if so, how have you configured it to work.thanks, j. stillman

On thin ice here, but I think it simply cannot be done. Media 100 – AFAIK – is a propertarian HW/SW solution and will not let other SW access its hardware. And I think you cannot use M100 with other hardware.
But hit me with a big stick, if I am wrong!

I was able to do this with Version 1.25 of FCP about four years ago during some initial testing. But since then, I haven’t heard of anyone else able to pull this off, especially after Version 2.
Pick up an AJA Io if you don’t want to install a card or any of the AJA Kona series.

further info. my fcp5 program recognizes media 100 boards in the video playback output box, but doesn’t seem to allow it to work as output sources. if i don’t have a kona card, shouldn’t this work? anybody tried it w/ fcp5? thanks, joe
