I’m trying to import .wmv files and I get the error message that there isn’t enough memory. How do I increase the application memory. I’ve not had a problem importing these files in the past, and I just imported a quick time movie with out issue.
    Thanks

    Some more info please.

What OS, QT and M100 versions? Are you using Flip for Mac?

    [bruce botts] “QT 7.6.4 Media 100 i 8.2.3”

That is a dangerous combination. You could try to convert the WMV to QuickTime first (e.g. with Flip4Mac), and then import the resulting QuickTime.

Okay thanks! But I’m curious why this is a dangerous combination?

He’s likely referring to the fact that QT 7.5.5 “broke” the Media 100 i codec. Search the forum for “7.5.5” and you’ll see much discussion of it from about a year ago.

In a nutshell, keyframes on clips in bins were black and attempting to play the clips resulted in a “Bad Video Frame” error. The only solution at the time was to jump through many hoops to back up to QT 7.5.

QT 7.6 and beyond “fixed” the problem completely for users of Media 100 v10 and up but left Media 100 i v8.2.3a users with pink (some say purple) keyframes on clips in bins.

Thus, the “last” version of QuickTime for users of Media 100 i systems is v7.5.0.

    Right.
