  • Media 100 doesn’t see the Kona Card

I recently bought the Kona LSe for Final Cut Pro and then bought/upgraded to the Media 100 Boardless option (just the software if you already own the board) a few weeks later. The Kona works fine with FCP 5.1.4. I downloaded the 11.5.1 update from M100’s site and installed it on a new drive partition (No FCP). When I open Media 100, I get this error:

“Media 100 can not run because the hardware is not installed. Install the Media 100 hardware or run the diagnostic application”

I’ve uninstalled the current Kona drivers and installed older versions. I re-installed Media 100 twice and now I’m out of ideas. I have a Quad G5 running 10.4.9 and QT 7.1.6. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    -Eric

I think you shouldn’t install any kona drivers on your M100 partition yourself, I think the M100 installer does that, so maybe you have dueling drivers?

You need to have 2 bootable partitions or drives to run both FCP and Media100 using the AJA hardware the drivers for the card don’t work at the same time. Producer might work with FCP as it only has a firewire interface.

You definitely should have no Kona drivers or applications(!!!) on your Media 100 partition. The Media 100 installer does install the Aja OEM drivers, which should work fine with your board. Does the Apple system profiler “see” your LSe board when booting from your Media 100 partition?
