Medea FCR2 Drive Compatible with new MacPros?
Hey Everyone, quick question about an old Drive. I’ve been using the Medea FCR2 for the past four years in conjunction with Dual 2.0Ghz G5 MacPro, with a Standard Def AJA IO box.
My company has approved some funds for me to get a brand new MacPro 8-core (I will be purchasing a PCI-express Fiber card to go along with this) And an AJA IOHD along with this as well.
Now my company wants me to “just use the old drive”. Is it even possible that this drive can work with this new equipment? I’ve tried to do some research on it on my own, but the drive is discontinued, and all information regarding the interaction with new equipment has been scarce to say the least.
I’m holding off pulling the trigger until I know I can get the new system in my office and set it up with a minimum of headaches, I know I SHOULD upgrade to a new drive, just need to have the information to take my bosses to say that I NEED to upgrade to a new drive or the system won’t work, thanks everyone!
