    Hi there-

I’ve been using a Seinheiser ME66 shotgun recently with my DVX100 and have been experiencing some sound issues. It distorts and sounds tinny even when I have the audio dials turned down rather low. What am I missing here? Is it a mike problem, or a sensitivity issue? Is there some limiter setting or gain that might be on by accident?

    Any help/tips are much appreciated.

Are you running this mic through a mixer? If so, insure you’re set up on the DVX to receive a “line level” input. If you’re audio controls are turned down and it still sounds distorted and tinney, I’m leaning towards that.

If you’re not using a mixer, change mic cables. This could also be a shielding problem on the ground wire on your mic cable.

Let us know what you find out.
