MC6 Sluggish/Lag while Trimming

So you’re having issues just using the software version, no video out? That’s interesting, if i turn off video out everything works perfectly.

i may have found the reason.

i’m using AMA with .mov files that use XDCam EX compression. when i opened an exercise project that uses MXF files the stickiness disappeared.

but it still doesn’t make sense, why advertise AMA capabilities if they don’t work well?

New to Avid (well not really, but haven’t used it in about 6 years), but I’m getting the EXACT same issue. I’m doing a project with the trial to see if I’m going to go with Avid or Premiere as my main editor. Makes working such a drag.

Hi guys,

Its been 2 years after this last post.

Now its MediaComposer 7.0.3 with AJA IO XT and having the same exact issue the you are talking about (Sluggish/Lag) in timeline and Trim mode.

Anyone got to resolve this one ?

When hardware is ON, its very slow on scrub, when Hardware is OFF the scrub is perfect (real time) (HW / SW) ON / OFF

2 x Avid MediaComposer 7.0.3 with AJA IO XT or KONA 3 (both systems same issue)
10 TB Pegasus Promise RAID
AMA XDCAM EX or MXF DNx145 footage got same issue (1080i59)
OS 10.8.5 (i7 3.4GHz, 16GB 1600MHz DDR3)
AJ Open IO 10.4.9, AJA Driver 10.5.1
