    Hello,

    I am using MC5.0.

Hardware is Imac 10.6.4, 2.8 GHz Intel i7

    4 GB ram

I just started cutting a project that was shot on RED. Media is in DNx36. All clips loaded into

    bins fine.

I have started editing and have 3 crashes in 3 hours…

    Exception: AMPI Error, erroCode:-5008

    OK

when I hit OK, I then get

Exception: AMPI subsystem error, ErroMessage:DSM future error from server eDSMError_ServerDied: (null)

    AMPI EngineComponent::FinishedProcessing in AMPIEngine.cpp:425

    OK

When I hit OK, I then get

    Exeption: AMPI Error, erroCode:5008

    OK

    after that I get

An error message with the avid symbol

“Segmentation Fault” in thread “MainThread”, at address 0x0

I’m using a g-tech drive with 800 firewire and the drive has plenty of room on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also dumped the media data bases and creating folder, let them rebuild, and am still getting crash…

    Thanks!

Have you transcoded the RED clips since linking to them or are you playing back the AMA linked clips?
If you’re connected to the RED clips via AMA you will need to make sure you timeline is in draft quality mode to expect long term playback without dropping frames, it could possibly have an effect on these errors.
