Activity Forums Avid Media Composer mc 6 – osx lion – trial over – uninstaller won’t work

    The uninstaller thinks it’s uninstalled everything. Is everything gone? If not, re-run the installer, then uninstall, then install v5 (sounds like I’m on windows!)

    no, all of mc 6 is still there. i did not delete any files manually. i wonder why the uninstaller is so lame.
    ok i will give the install/uninstall a try. black mark for avid on this one. what is this 1997?
    almost worth just upgrading to the 6 license instead (maybe that’s what they’re trying to do – very avid!)

    Did you ever find an answer to this problem? i am trying to install 7 but my uninstaller is telling me just what you say here. I cam manually uninstall — but i am afraid i may miss something.

    Just manually uninstall. Do a find with the term “avid” and trash everything.
    Then go searching in root and user library folders for items with avid in the name, as find doesn’t find everything
    Throw it all away and you’re good for new install
