I recently downloaded the trial. When the program starts, the timeline shows up briefly and then disappears. I am unable to get it to open again. Tried usual remedies repairing permissions, etc.

Here is the question – is this because I am not running it in Lion?
That is the OS specified in qualifying systems, yet I know sometimes Avid will operate fine
    under different specs.

    Thoughts?

Happens on Lion too. It gets confused with multiple monitors.

Select one of the preset workspaces, everything will become visible. MOdify to your needs then save it.

    Bit of a bug, eh?
    I have two monitors.
Wonder if PC version has same issue.

    Thanks!

Yeah. It’s a bit of a shock at first, but easily fixed.

My initial reaction was that they were trying to one up Apple…FCPX got rid of tracks, Avid got rid of the whole damn timeline. 🙂

I run dual monitors and only get it to work when I place the menu bar on the left monitor (Sys Prefs – Displays). Then it works normally. I couldn’t get it to work with the menu on the right, even doing the workspaces thing. I’m on Mac OS 10.7.2 (Lion).

I did get it to work properly clicking through a couple of the presets.
What editor – especially Avid – doesn’t use dual monitors?

This is a pretty big clunk, Avid.
Who do you think you are, Apple?

    😉
