MC 5.5 on a HP Z210 with AJA I/O Express?

I think the thing is that the third party boxes (MXO2 mini and Io Express) don’t have any on-board DNxHD hardware codecs. So you need faster/more processors to cope with the encoding. My best guess is that they just didn’t even test the Z200-series with external I/O. I have an Io Express attached to a (slow, old) XW8400 (2xDC 2.66). I haven’t tried to capture anything with it, though (it’s in my home setup, where I don’t have any decks).

If you want your Avid to work properly you have to use a qualified system. This is the way it is done, and this is the way that you will do it.

However, if you insist on being a baby, and just want what you want, and just can’t understand why it takes SPENDING MONEY on PROPER EQUIPMENT to make a living in the editing business, please post your address, and I will be happy to fly to your location and strangle you.

I LOVE that post.

I am only asking, because I know that the Z400 is the lowest price qualified PC, but the Z400 and Z800 do not support internal 6G Sata drives, and the Z210 does (and the Z210 is qualified for SOFTWARE ONLY by AVID) – so I was wondering if anyone tried this.

Because of 6Gig SATA drives, being the only current SATA drives on the market today, (3Gig drives are rapidly going away to my dismay), I have to assume that HP will release a Z410 and Z810.

do you see where is says QUALIFIED FOR SOFTWARE ONLY on the Z210 document ? CANT YOU READ ? What are you going to do when it doesn’t work – start crying” –

etc, etc. It is very important to be helpful and specific while insulting someone, or you will get thrown off the forums. However, if you give specific detailed information that is more helpful than others have given, then you can degrade and berate someone as much as you want.

And I am sure that everyone who owns the wonderful Z800 will start to cry once HP updates to soon to a modern architecture.
