    hello all…..

I am working on getting my chops together in MC5.

I was working in PR cs4 and CS5 and I’m kinda over it, it just wont work right.

    SO….

PR has a great plugin called “Change color to” dose MC5 have a thing like that? I cant find it yet if it does.

Read on for more detail on the plug.

It allows you to use a color picker tool to select a color from your frame of video and then pick another color (at random if you like) and have the plug convert every thing from the frame that was the first color to the new color. IT also give you some fine tweakage controls for those more demanding correction issues.

I have it found it super helpful in getting pink/blemished faces to have more filmic skin tone.

(I just try as best I can to make it all look like that doc “cinematographer style” nice work guys!!!)

    thanks for reading!!

    hi Aaron

short answer… don’t learn a complex software like MC5 on your own. take a course.

a bit longer: there is an effect called paint, it has a function called magic mask that can do what you are looking for, even in a masked region, instead of entire frame. look for tutorials on this tool, i believe there are some.

and as of MC5, its in real time 🙂

    Hector….

    Paint
    I will try it out!

yeah I’m rocking lynda.com for now and will do more when I’m ready.

Learning comes in many forms – the important thing is I LOVE TO CUT!! And I Love MC5- even on my relatively small quadcore the play back is so smooth!

I love getting home from a shoot and seeing what I got – I love when the person being interviewed give an awesome answer with no “ums” or when the lighting just falls into place and it all works!

thanks for your time and tips!

    enjoy cutting!

NewBlue has a plugin that will do exactly what you want called ColorSwap. I think they’ve got a trial version here:
