MC 4.0.5 Project Creation Problem
We have MC 4.0.5 on both an HP tower and newer HP laptop. We share a single dongle between machines.
When creating a new project in the older tower, I do not get the option for 1080p 29.97. It does show up in the laptop, however.
Also, when creating a 720p 29.97 project in the older machine I get few codec choices..the highest of the Avid DNxHD is 110.
So my question is … Even though the older computer meets specs for MC 4.0.5, is the older computer keeping me from being able to generate a 1080p 29.97 project? If I select 720p 59.94, the codec choices appear. However, I cannot use this project setting, as our raw footage is 1080p 29.97.
Here are the specs… TOWER – HP8200 with two separate 3.6 Xeon processors. 4gb ram (3 seen by system), Windows XP SP 3.
LAPTOP – HP8740 with duocore i7 1.6gb, 6gb of ram, 64 bit OS windows 7.

Wild guess, did you update the codecs?
If not, do so.
Well, do so anyways…And perhaps upgrade to 5.5, not that expensive and it will give you some goodies.

I believe the codecs have been updated. Although there is one last thing to check on for that today.
The older tower computer will not run 5.5, it is at it’s upgrade limit without changing out the computer.
